This was a random flowering bush that I happened upon in a Denver park while I had my camera in hand.
I can't decide if the flowers look better left to right or up and down. What do you think? I can't remember how they looked on the bush itself.

I can't explain why, but they kind of look sideways to me. And they look like they must smell sweet and fruity, like really good honey.
I think horizontal feels best.
They look sweet-smelling to me, too. I can't remember if they were, though! I was sort of rushing to get back to my car as a storm was setting in and I was alone in this park with a big sign warning against being in the park during lightning storms....
huh.
I totally thought brooke's comment was in response to a sex-related post I read right before this one.
