detail

CatGirl has an eye for detail and loves working in miniature. She spent hours on Easter Eve crafting the detailed patterns of this Ukranian (Pysanky?) egg.

I feel awed to have such talent in our family.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

My great grandmother also created these, and my Mom is keeping some for me at her home currently. I am too concerned about how fragile they can be - particularly around toddlers. I do think pysanky is the right term.

Oy, that is amazing. And yes, it's called "Pysanky". The world's largest pysanka is near my hometown in Alberta where there are many Ukranian immigrants. So many, that Ukranian food is a standard part of the provincial diet - as Mexican food is in California.

I have a wooden one of these that my mom brought from a trip she had to the Ukraine. I hang it on my Christmas tree every year as a wonderful resemblance.

Cat Girl's is especially intricate and lovely.
