just arrived in the city

View from Our Room., originally uploaded by mind on fire.

Survived rail/subway transfers at rush hour. Learning that New Yorkers don't move out of the way--not in the market, not on the sidewalk, not so you can push the buttons in the elevator. A gross exaggeration to be sure, but I'm trying to figure out how to navigate like the locals do...We're situated just a few blocks from Times Square, from MOMA, from Rockefeller Center.

This is fun, people.

If you have the time, go to the Van Gogh exhibit at MOMA. A friend and I took the bus down from Boston earlier this month just to see it (4.5 hours each way - we couldn't afford to stay over) and it was worth it! Regular admission covers the exhibit (it's pricey, $20 for 1 adult), but you need to get a timed entry ticket to get in.

Enjoy NYC!
