I was raised Mormon, but now I'm a hippie Quaker living in the OC with my two teenage kids: CatGirl & GameBoy.
Twenty-six years ago I lost my right leg to bone cancer. Awhile ago I had an antibiotic-resistant infection in my lower left leg, and now I'm healing from surgery and feeling better every day.
I like gardening, making history, outrigger canoeing, trying new things, and my afternoon cup of tea.

That warmed our hearts. :-) We miss you guys! It's been a while. We're glad you are feeling better and we're glad John shared his story at Sunstone. :-)
he's a talented and charismatic speaker.
this was timely, just today my 4yr old son began to talk to me about death (the topic obviously scared him) and I was at a loss, no longer comfortable using the comforting "we go to heaven when we die" line.
than you for posting this here, as I didn't get the chance to hear it first hand.
