today

like velcro, originally uploaded by pilgrimgirl.

Today I woke feeling like wearing a long swishy skirt and burning candles on the back porch while reading poetry.

But...

I have to work two shifts in concessions at GameBoy's swim meet (for the next 4 hours) and then grade 40 midterms. And we won't even talk about the household stuff that needs doing (laundry, laundry, and more laundry).

Sigh.

I hope you at least wore a swirly skirt at the concession stand!

I should have, but it seemed out of context. I wore cropped pants and a tank (just like the other Mom volunteers). I wanted to blend in. Bor-ing.

I didn't know that you did laundry--just kidding.

hmmmm...

Technically, GameBoy and CatGirl take the laundry to the washers and run it through (bringing it home for airdrying when possible). the closest laundry room isn't accessible for me--you have to walk through some pretty uneven/thick grass to get there--so I don't actually do the washing part myself. Or, if I do, I load it on the back of my bike and go to a more remote laundry room.

But I AM the folder of laundry in our household and I've had several loads of such sitting and waiting for attention for over a week. Gah.
