yes, I feel really embarrassed that I haven't read The Life of Pi, Kite Runner, or The Red Tent. Shameful, isn't it!

I think Kite Runner is overrated -- but I unabashedly love The Red Tent. I smell a trip to the library in your future . . .

I've read most of those same books. If you enjoyed the Mists of Avalon at all, though, you should try the Red Tent. The character development is much less rich, but the background is even more interesting. :)
